Comfortable Bathroom Design for Aging in Place

A Facelift with Purpose

Faced with the wear and tear of time, this outdated master bathroom needed a facelift that embraced our client’s contemporary aesthetics while also prioritizing functionality and ease of use for its senior occupants. The original master bathroom echoed the past with wallpapered walls and outdated fixtures. Responding to the clients' desire for a refreshing change, our team got started right away, beginning with the installation of modern LVT flooring. The shower area underwent a remarkable makeover, featuring an easy walk in design that seamlessly combines accessibility and modernity, a new surround, and glass shower doors. Beyond aesthetics, the inclusion of strategically placed grab bars infused an element of safety without compromising on style. A new vanity, adorned with a sleek quartz top, finished off the space.

Designing for Ease of Upkeep

The design philosophy for this master bathroom transcended mere aesthetics. Recognizing the importance of easy maintenance, we opted for surfaces that not only dazzle the eye but also make cleaning a breeze. Every design choice, from the flooring to the vanity, was a meticulous balance between timeless elegance and practical functionality. This resulted in a master bathroom that not only looks stunning but will  stand the test of time with minimal upkeep. The glass shower walls and the new lights above the vanity help bring a light, bright aesthetic to the bathroom that feels modern and spacious. One of the key highlights of this project is its contribution to the couple's journey of aging in place. Rather than facing the prospect of moving, this renovation allows them to continue cherishing the familiarity and warmth of their home while embracing the convenience of a modern and accessible space.
