Upgrading an Old Charm Bathroom

The bathroom in our clients' beloved 1930s home had become outdated, feeling cramped and less functional. They sought a redesign that would enhance the space while preserving the home's historic charm. We carefully reimagined the layout and transformed the bathroom into a spacious, stylish area that blends seamlessly with the home's classic character. We wanted this remodel to feel as if it had always been part of the original design.

Opening Up Space with Purpose

We began by removing the closet, which allowed us to expand the shower and tub area. This adjustment made room for a larger, luxurious soaking tub and created a more open, comfortable flow. We also relocated the bathroom door in order to free up wall space and accommodate a grand 72-inch vanity. These changes resulted in an airy, welcoming layout and transformed the bathroom into a functional retreat.

Reinventing Timeless Designs

To honor the original architecture, we selected materials that complement the home’s history while introducing a modern touch. Black and white hexagon floor tiles bring a vintage feel, while larger 4x12 subway tiles on the shower walls provide an updated look that remains true to tradition. The wall tile extends up to chair rail height which is a classic design element often seen in homes from this era. For added dimension, we incorporated black accent stripes in the shower.

Where Classic Meets Cutting-Edge

Black metal fixtures added a touch of sophistication and a contrast to the design. They complemented the black tile accents and created a cohesive, timeless look. These choices allowed our clients to maintain a classic yet fresh aesthetic that flows seamlessly with the rest of their home. The result was a refined, functional space that aligns with the home's character and the clients' personal style.
